Apartment Buildings in Etagnières

Our goal was to find a cost effective and environmentally safe solution to deal with out mineral scaling issues throughout our 2 apartment buildings. After 1 week of using the Vulcan mineral descaler, a noticeable decrease in the effort required to remove scaling form surfaces throughout the apartment building- kitchen, bathrooms, etc.
After installing the device, very easy installation process, there is no maintenance required to maintain this technology and the amount of electricity it uses is so inconsequential at only 2 watts of power.

Model: Vulcan S25
Installation Area: Main cold water line

Observed before and after results with using the Vulcan descaler:

Kitchen Kettle:

Before:
Over years a layer of scale had accumulated at the bottom of our kettle and it was impossible to scrap off. We had to let vinegar soak in the kettle to try and pry it off.
After:
Excess mineral scale can be removed easily, even by using your finger or a damp cloth.

Pots and Pan Surfaces:

Before:
If we did not dry our pots and pans straight away, the water would leave mineral spots and it would be difficult to remove afterwards. You can only clean with dishwashing detergent and then make sure you dry them quickly.
After:
Even if our pots and pans had been drying for 30 minutes, it was still easy to remove the mineral spots with a damp cloth. We noticed that even if you did not manually dry our pots and pans for several hours, we could still remove the mineral spots with minimal rubbing and we do not have to rewash.

Stainless Steel Sink:

Before:
Our sink would hold on to grease and oil and we had to use a rough sponge and brush with degreasing detergent to get it clean.
After:
Excess grease and oil still makes our stainless steel sink dirty BUT cleaning is significantly easier and will considerably less effort.

Dishwasher (internal surface is stainless steel):

Before:
White mineral scale layers were built up on the bottom and on the door making it very difficult to manually remove. We had to use chemical anti-scale products.
After:
The built-up scale turned into a white powder on the internal door surfaces and we could clean it with a wet sponge AND WITHOUT a chemical descaler.

Chrome Faucets:

Before:
We had to use a knife to scrap away blocked spay head holes
After:
Built-up scale loosened and excess scale could be quickly removed without using an anti-scale chemical agent

Kitchen and Bathroom Faucets:

Before:
Our kitchen faucet spray head was frequently blocked by hard-to-remove scale deposits. Limestone deposits would bond to the circumference of the rings and would be visible in the inner side of the plastic filters. We would soak these areas with a vinegar concoction to try and loosen the scale.
After:
No more mineral deposits were found inside the filters or on the outside rings of our showerheads. Water flows out of the showerhead without any obstacle, and no new deposit accumulates in the holes of the spray head.

Granite Countertops:

Before:
We would get an accumulation of mineral scale around the tap and after water would dry on the surface, it always appeared dull and dirty. We could not use chemical limestone acid remover because granite is a natural stone and the acid would damage the countertop. We would scrape the stone surface with a metal spatula after using our steam cleaner at the maximum pressure setting.
After:
The existing mineral scale buildup become more like a powder substance that we could remove with a damp cloth. After a period of time the granite surface regains its original shine and brightness. We could then use natural stone care products on occasion and noticed the polish would be applied more efficiently

Washbasin Sinks:

Before:
Our washbasins areas would rust over quickly and feel sticky. The deposits could only be removed with an abrasive sponge, a degreasing detergent and sometimes an anti-scale product.
After:
Deposits were easily removed with a damp cloth and now using soap actually had an overall cleaning benefit.

Washbasin Drain Pipes:

Before:
Every week we would use a cylindrical brush and rotate it under running water to the bottom of the collector. When we would pull it out black sludge deposit would be removed from the pipe.
After:
Now when we pull the brush out from the collector drainpipe, the brush threads return to a state of whiteness almost without black deposits.

Toilet (Ceramic):

Before:
Even after using the W.C. brush, the "traces of marks" had a tendency to clog especially to the bottom of the bowl. "Hygo WC maximum power gel" cleaning products were necessary to ensure proper hygiene.
After:
These spots are now easy to "erase." Even if it is necessary to use cleaning products, for hygiene or routine maintenance reasons, it still saves use a lot of manual cleaning effort.

Fittings:

Before:
We had less mineral scaling around fittings. We would use a knife to scrap the scale away.
After:
Using regular water with a wet cloth was sufficient, even without anti-scale products.

Shower Heads:

Before:
The water outlets were often blocked by scale deposits.
After:
No more obstructions and the water flows smoothly

Glass Shower Walls:

Before:
We have not noticed a great difference between the before and after amount of builtup mineral sclaing on the glass walls. For us, our glass shower walls do not accululate a lot of direct mineral scaling.
After:
Another co-owner found that the stains on the glass walls were easier to remove than before.

Aluminum Shower Enclosure Frame:

Before:
It was necessary to scrape the accumulated scale deposits at the junction of the shower tray with a knife. We could not use anti-lime descaling products on aluminum surfaces.
After:
Mineral scale deposits became easy to remove.

Evaporating water in glass wear:

Before:
The scale was formed on the wall of the glass, difficult to remove (vinegar necessary).
After:
The limescale spot is less broad and less compact, but it is still difficult to remove without vinegar.

Evaporating water in glass saucer with flat bottom:

Before:
Mineral scale stuck to the bottom and vinegar was necessary to remove it.
After:
Scale still clings to the bottom, but it can be removed by rubbing and if necessary with a plastic spatula. We do not have to use our vinegar solution.
