
Industrial Boiler & Greenhouse Heating
Our facility operates an older coal-fired boiler system that provides heat to the nursery and greenhouse via hot water pipes. Over years of operation, we observed a progressive increase in heat loss and coal consumption due to mineral buildup and piping degradation.
We installed the Vulcan system on the return water line. Over 18 months of monitoring, we observed the boiler began to operate more effectively. Heat transfer has improved, resulting in lower coal consumption. The previous issues with corrosion and limescale in the boiler and heating pipes have been resolved, and the system now operates with higher efficiency.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane Protection
Prior to installing Vulcan, mineral deposits were damaging our osmosis membranes. Even with constant chemical descaling agents, the membranes only lasted 6 months before requiring replacement. This created high operating costs and frequent maintenance intervals.
After installing the Vulcan S10 on the RO lines, these same membranes have now lasted over 11 months. We have significantly reduced our reliance on chemical descaling agents. Consequently, our company has successfully lowered operating costs associated with maintenance, chemicals, and membrane replacement.
